Life is Good...
So we are slowly but surely getting better, work is being interesting. There has been no alchohole since saturday, I have written some great plot for larp and eaten some truly lovely food. Not only that, but out of the blue, when we should need one for next year, we find ourselves a Norman Castle: St Briavels, there will be larp, oh yes, there will be larp! Perfect for FairyTales. Going to be a good one (if we can get it!) Now this evening, eating more good food and drinking Muscal, lovely! The Dream I have been thinking, I want an event for FatesDawn by the end of 2010 with over a hundred people playing a FatesDawn weekend.
Can you imagine it? We could fill the entire welsh village with people in costumes, have enough refs to make sure that everyone had there moment and use the influx of cash to get bigger sites and more impressive props.
The best thing about FatesDawn is that it so open to interpretation, the factions are funded by the merchants, who are supporting the soldiers, religeon creates an ongoing back drop and magic is the wylde card.
The (few) NPC's there are have there own agendas and the downtime system would mean that the game would continue well after the event was over.
We already have the IC tents in place and costume and props are constantly growing.
What I need is for people to book, invite there friends and come again.
So what can I do? What would tempt you to come along, 100 isnt that big, but from there I believe it would grow experdentialy. Vik warbands 50 strong and actual cattle wars between the Fenn.
The Fomorie moving in numbers and a King on the Stone.
So tell me, how can I get you to share this dream? What would tempt you along? How can I coral you and placate you and tempt you to give me the £20/£40 this event needs to happen?

Exciting times... Well, I have decided that rather than stay in a job I am getting seriously hacked off with (changing our pay, removing the buses, changing our target structure, putting the price of the product up and telling us we will be sacked if we dont hit targets....) I am simply going to apply around. So far I have managed to get a good number of C.V.'s off, very importantly I am only applying for jobs which either pay more I want to do.
I have been organising Wyvernstales and the website (plug brought to you by: www.wyvernstales.co.uk) is coming along well thanks to the concertive efforts of the ref team, we have the bank account set up and I am applying for grants all over the place. We have a laminator and membership cards are being made. I have finaly got "Wolves of Midguard" the specialy written Viking event I have been asked to do up to play test standered, so on the 17th there is going to be many cries of "WODAN!!" and bouncy viking crazyness. All in all, things are going well in that direction.
All in all, I only have one problem and that is that things are taking so long! ;)
Now I need to go have a shower, because Gideon needs to be clean for day ahead!! Current Mood: calmCurrent Music: Iron Maiden - The Trooper | | Thursday, October 1st, 2009 | | 9:47 pm |
A Blatent Plug Hampshire/South Wales Larpers? Wyvernstales LARP A growing institution that draws role players from up and down the county (and often further away) to take part in high quality events often written with them specifically in mind! Running both day events, by request, and weekend events at the finest sites we can find (StockWood, Candlestone etc.) with as much plot as we can pack in for as little cost as we can manage has been so far a winning combination. At the moment we run two systems: FairyTales – Cadfiel meets the X-files in this setting as characters who are renegades from the norms of 12th century England , still rocking from the great anarchy, are sent to investigate the impossible and cover up the incredible, getting to the bottom of strange goings on and trying to survive the violence that seems to follow these events. With violence and factions striving for the running of the country, magic is rife but as dangerous for its practitioners as for any other. Violence is a deadly fact of life, bringing real danger to confrontations. The downtime system is simple but elegant to provide a fun and simple game for traders and politicians.

Jobs and stuff
Well, unfortunatly I did not get the two jobs that I needed to both work in customer service (money) and the youth theatre project (life and joy) that I wanted, but I still have the Zurich job so things arent all bad. In other news, if you would like to come larping, I still have a few places for the following events: EVENT: Febuary, Wales, indoor accomadation both in a modern bunk room or a lovely warm roundhouse. Stabsafe spears, mad combat, crazy politics and dark magic.
EVENT: May, Wales, Roundhouses, IC bar, X-files meets cadfiel plot.

SexDward's, LARP and Jobs Hello,
Its been a while so I thought I would give a more complete update. All in all things are going very well, I am slowly recovering from a flow of whiny gitness. Using skills learnt through years of being a twazok and honed to a fine edge I carefully managed to push most of my old friends away and severly try the patience of several others. I dont know whats going to happen in the future, but it will be ok. Things are slowly begining to take shape again. I still have a job, by monday at the very latest I will know whether I am leaving it for a better closer, more well paid job, doing basicly the same thing. I am still living where I have been for the last few years, despite several attempts to do something else with my life, whether for the best or not is still to be decided. I do know this though: I am sure of what I want, stability, someone who actualy likes me, doesnt just want me round to make them feel better. How that is going to pan out will be interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI19TvAckkg I have several projects still on the go, the return of FairyTales seems to be an unmitigated success: http://forums.rule7.co.uk/Topic101836-46-1.aspx Looks like I have pegged it. (If you are interested events can be booked here: www.wyvernstales.co.uk) Slightly annoyed at various things SteamPunk, turned around and feeling a little used, not really sure what I am meant to be doing from this point, no one's talking to me (which is probably my fault) so *shrug* Also have a viking larp that I keep trying to write for Wolfpack. Most importantly though I had a conversation with a friend that reminded me what I had been missing, the pleasurable and well executed discussion of ideas, from two people who where heated but friendly, it made me late I was enjoying it so much and look forward to going back to talking of such things regularly. Anyway, I have to go to work, after my horrible 1-9 shift this week I am on 8-4's, stay safe people and have a great weekend. Is rubbish
Larp = Rubbish Rping = Rubbish. Should be really good, but long live the clique, they are going to make it shit. I am well out of this crap. Dont tell me its just the group, I have been doing this for over 10 years. There are some grand rpers out there, but they are to busy with there cliques. Tired, cant be bothered, just like paganism/druidism (lets be honest religeon) its all about who you know, not what you know, or how you do it.... I am very well
Life, at the moment, while tiring, is very good. I went to see the Midsummer dream's french art performance last night, I have been watching a lot of Deadwood, I have a job, that is slowly helping me clear my debts. I have my weekend event set up for next week, there still a couple of places, but it is becoming nicely filled. There is a lot I want to write, but I dont know how to do it without sounding bitter, which I am not. I want to make that clear. *huggles* Stay safe. Oooh, maybe Hurt! *bimbles off* Having a shower, finnishing my tea, then I am beggining my day of bimberling, I would be very glad to see you if you are about, there may well be wine, tea, coffee etc... Give me a ring! *huggles* Oh yes and if you are considering comeing to my event in July get in touch asap! Places are limited and going fast! This Weekend....
Due to financial restraints I will not be going to London this weekend, neither will I be going out at all (a sad thing as it is a friends birthday, but maybe for the best!) However this does mean I have the house more or less to myself, if you fancy popping round for a few bourd games, a film or two or just a chat, give me a ring! This evening I am back from 9 and tomorow I will be free from two onwards (have some chores to do in the morning). Let me know if you fancy doing anything! Current Mood: chipperCurrent Music: None |
